School and family are the main agents for promoting educational success. But the complexity of socio-educational processes and the current extent of school failure highlight the need to promote the interaction and initiatives of other actors of the local community. These can contribute to the work school and family carry out with relevant educational activities, with the added value of coming from other professionals and volunteers within the local community.
In the context of this challenge, we search initiatives from the local community that respond efficiently and effectively to the following priority areas of action:
- Support for the most vulnerable according to the risk factors for school failure, such as:
- children and teenagers from families with low economic, cultural and social capital, and
- school children with learning disabilities, who amount to 5-15% of the school age population and constitute a frequent cause of school failure.
- Effective involvement of children, teenagers and young adults in their learning process, through motivating educational activities positively linked with the field of education and conferring meaning to their education process.
- Promotion of continuing or returning to education and educational transition (between stages; between school and work) for teenagers and young adults.
